A course in good taste

MANILA, Philippines - Absolut Vodka recently held a vodka appreciation course billed as Absolut 101: A Course in Good Taste, held at the posh Establishment in Taguig City.

The crowd, composed mostly of Absolut aficionados and new-found Absolut drinkers, together with select media guests, enjoyed the night with Jasmine Fitzgerald who hosted the event.

Bjorn Olsson, beverage consultant and Absolut Brand Ambassador, served Manila’s tasteful, discriminating crowd with his cocktail creations like Absolut Tropuical Heat, Absolut Ginger Pear Martini and Absolut Mandrin Minx.

The vodka appreciation course started with a video presentation that presented the origins of Absolut Vodka, its source — Ahus, a small village in southern Sweden; the distinctive process called continuous distillation and causes the brand supports like the arts, music and fashion.

Olsson gave tips on how to enjoy Absolut, “To enjoy your vodka, you must nose it, but make sure not to put your sniffers too closely as this can intoxicate you. Just take a little sniff, sip and when you take it in the mouth, chew it a little bit before you swallow it. This way. You will enjoy its smooth, mellow, full bodied and grainy character.”

He ended, “As an alcohol brand we always emphasize that it must be enjoyed with Absolut responsibility. What sets it apart is its extraordinary taste and character.”
