Backroom artists gear up for 2010

MANILA, Philippines - Year 2010 promises to be a busy one for Backroom artists.

Ai-Ai delas Alas is one of the judges together with Freddie Garcia and Kris Aquino in the new ABS-CBN talent reality show Pilipinas, Got Talent. She teams up for the first time with Aga Muhlach in an upcoming ABS-CBN comedy show. Ai-Ai endorses Maggi Magic Sarap, Puregold, Smart Telecommunications, 555 Carne Norte, 555 Beef Meat Loaf and Calayan Surgi Center.

Erik Santos is regularly seen in ASAP XV. He will perform on Feb. 26 and April 30 (Konsiertong Pasasalamat in Albay Astrodome). Watch out for Heartsongs nationwide tour starting March. Erik endorses Bank of the Philippine Islands and Calayan Surgi Center. 

Mariel Rodriguez is a regular fixture on television. She hosts Wowowee and Entertainment Live. Mariel endorses Vitresse, Seriously White Whitening Products, Globe Telecommunications, Meg and Calayan Surgi Center.

Bianca Gonzalez is one of the most in-demand young female hosts today. Aside from corporate shows, she hosts ABS-CBN’s Entertainment Live, Cinema One’s Cinema News Alert: Weekend Edition, The Filipino Channel’s TFC Connect and Studio 23’s Y Speak. Bianca endorses Avon Mix, Meg and Calayan Surgi Center.

Sitti is busy with corporate shows and ASAP XV. She will perform on Feb. 20 (Richard Poon concert at Zirkoh Morato); Feb. 26 (Narvacan Mall Grounds, Ilocos Sur); and Feb. 27 (Pagcor, Cebu).

Funnyman Pooh is part of ABS-CBN’s Banana Split and Kung Tayo’y Magkakalayo. Aside from corporate shows, Pooh is busy with his shows on Feb. 19 and 20 (My Poohlish Heart at the Music Museum); March 5 (special guest in K Brosas’ K-9 concert at Crossroad, Panay Avenue); March 7 (with Pokwang at the Central Bank Auditorium, Davao) and April 18 (Albay Astrodome). Pooh is an endorser of Osteogard.

K Brosas will hold a show on Feb. 26 and March 5 (K-9 anniversary concert at Crossroad, Panay Avenue); Feb. 27 (guest in Jed Madela’s concert in Lucena City); March 18 (Club Bossa, Pampanga); and April 5 (Concierto sa Magayon at Albay Astrodome).

Rufa Mae Quinto is a mainstay of GMA 7’s Bubble Gang and Showbiz Central.

Husband and wife Ariel Rivera and Gelli de Belen are busy with various projects. Gelli is part of GMA 7’s Panday Kids and endorses Alaska, Knorr, PLDT, Caltrate and Swift Hotdog while Ariel is part of the cast of GMA 7’s Ina, Kasusuklaman Ba Kita?.

Aside from hosting corporate shows, Drew Arellano is your reliable companion to different exciting Philippine destinations with his travel show Balikbayan on Q-11 and a refreshing wake-upper during weekdays with his early-morning show Unang Hirit on GMA 7. He will host the Binibining Pilipinas Pre-Pageant with Rhian Ramos on Feb. 26.

Amy Perez hosts ABS-CBN’s Kabuhayang Swak na Swak and DZMM’s radio show About Me and You (12:30 to 2 a.m., Tuesday to Saturday) where she dabbles as a psychologist, an adviser, a friend and a love expert.

Dawn Zulueta is busy shooting product endorsements and working with the production of her compilation of poetry on DVD for her foundation. She is preparing for her musical stage play Little Night Music under Atlantis Production. She endorses Marie France Facial Care, Just Jewels and Robinsons Department Store.

Gretchen Barretto makes her comeback on the small screen via her latest teleserye on ABS-CBN which she will start taping in March. Joining her are Bea Alonzo and Derek Ramsay. She endorses Circulan and Plains & Prints.

Tintin Bersola-Babao recently gave birth to her second baby Antonio.

Ina Feleo is back on the big screen. She is part of Working Girls and John Lloyd Cruz-Bea Alonzo movie I Miss You Like Crazy.
