MANILA, Philippines - “I’m grateful for the support that people have shown me. I must admit, though, that I get a little uncomfortable sometimes when people show how much they like my songs, especially Sayang. This is really a dream come true for me,” Myrus says.
On Feb. 27, Myrus will have his first solo concert at the Teatrino in Promenade Mall, Greenhills.
“Myrus has worked so hard in the past year. His promo tour in SM Supermalls nationwide and singing engagements in various TV and corporate shows have all been well-received. The concert is a culmination of all that hard work,” says talent manager and producer Chris Cahilig.
The concert, Myrus: The Sentimental Prince (A Tribute to Sentimental Original Pilipino Music), is Myrus’ way to pay tribute to the rich trove of OPM songs, which have served as inspirations for young Filipino artists like him.
The song selection ranges from top OPM hits in the ‘70s, ‘80s, and ‘90s and sentimental ditties from some of the country’s well-loved Filipino artists.
The concert will serve as a preview of Myrus’ upcoming album, which will bear the same title as the event.
“The new album will show Myrus giving his own take on these OPM hits that will be featured in the concert,” says Cahilig.
Myrus adds, “I’m excited to be given such a big opportunity as this. Not many aspiring singers can enjoy this once-in-a-lifetime chance.”
Cahilig, meanwhile, says the concert and the new album are part of the big plans that his company has for the singer.
The concert is supported by White Flower Embrocation, Mendez Medical Group, Black Water by Ever Bilena, Dental First and Manila Bulletin.
Tickets are sold at P1,250 (premium seats) and P1,000 (regular seats).
