MANILA, Philippines - Jun Polistico’s career began in Manila, where as a singer, he competed, performed, and recorded as a solo artist. He toured with the Society of Seven as its lead singer from 1976 to 1983 in Hawaii, Reno, Lake Tahoe, Vancouver B.C., Chicago, and Anaheim, CA.
Parallel to his work as a singer, in 1972 he recorded seven hit albums with Villar Records in the Philippines, performed at the Thrilla in Manila in 1975, performed for the Jerry Lewis Telethon in 1980 to 1981 in a Honolulu telecast, recorded three albums with Society of Seven including the hit song for 16 weeks in Hawaii radio stations, I’ll Love You Through It All.
In 1984 back in the Philippines, he performed with Pilita Corrales. Back in the US, he formed the Valentino band in Las Vegas performing in hotels and casinos throughout Nevada and major US cities, attracting mainstream audiences including Filipinos.
In 1990, he landed a recording contract with Viva Records in Manila. A platinum album earned him the Awit Award for Sana’y Maghintay Ang Walang Hanggang as Best Male Interpreter. Two more albums followed.
Married to Flordeliza Galano since 1992, he has been performing and recording at live concerts and television in the Philippines, Australia and the US. When not actively performing he is a member of his church’s worship team and ministers to people on a spiritual level. It is through the Christian Born Again experience that he attests his victory over drugs, alcoholism and career downfall.
The Las Vegas-based singer continues to reap success as a solo artist in live concerts in his US tours. Tomorrow, Jan. 29 and on Jan. 30, Jun will again share his talent with his kababayan in an intimate setting of the Top of the Century@the Century Park Hotel Manila. An exclusive atmosphere awaits Jun and his entourage. For the first time he will be performing on a very limited capacity room. Fans will surely see their idol up close.
