MANILA, Philippines - The 67th Golden Globe awards brought with it a dazzling upset as newcomer Glee beat out established comedies such as The Office, 30 Rock and Entourage to win the Golden Globe for Best Television Comedy or Musical Series. The win left both the audience in attendance and the cast speechless as it took home the award in its first season. Glee airs on Monday nights at 8 on Jack TV and Tuesday nights at 10 on etc.
Accepting the award was creator Ryan Murphy.
After the awards ceremony, Murphy revealed he was overcome with emotion with the win as he took the stage all he could remember seeing was the “sea of 17 faces I have lived with for the past year” and feel appreciation towards them.
Lea Michele who plays perky Rachel Berry says of the award, “On our show we’re happy being the losers we are, but right now we’re happy being winners.”
Also nominated for Golden Globes were Matthew Morrison for Best Actor, Lea Michele for Best Actress and Jane Lynch as Best Supporting Actress.
