MANILA, Philippines - Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. introduces to the Philippines the newest addition to its roster of innovative and stylish phones: The Samsung Xplorer B2100 Xtreme Edition. Equipped with outstanding outdoor features, the Samsung Xplorer boasts not only of its robust durability and comfortable grip, but also a host of unique and exciting features designed to fit an active outdoor lifestyle.
Samsung is also proud to present the Samsung Xplorers Boom Gonzales, sportscaster, DJ, and active outdoorsman; Jinno Rufino, TV host and sports editor of Uno and Chalk magazines and Rovilson Fernandez, TV host, magazine editor and a finalist in The Amazing Race Asia.
To many, Rufino may seem to be a renaissance man in sports. Not only is he the sports editor of Uno and Chalk magazines, but he’s also a TV host, producer, and writer with sports shows such as Hardball and Hotwire. His job enables him to try out a wide variety of sports from wall climbing to whitewater rafting, but this sports lover also enjoys basketball, soccer, biking, circuit-racing, and water-based sports such as wakeboarding and surfing.
An outdoor phone is the logical choice for Jinno. However, he’s had an outdoor phone before from another mobile phone manufacturer and he says, “it was awful and felt weird.” Jinno now has a Samsung Xplorer. The phone not only boasts of an indestructible body — it is waterproof, shockproof, dustproof, and complies with Military Standard 801F, making it almost indestructible. The Samsung Xplorer is one tough gadget as it can withstand extremely hot and cold temperatures and can function perfectly even underwater.
“I’ve actually done a TV feature on the Samsung Xplorer before,” shares Boom. He was impressed with how tough the phone can be especially the shockproof and waterproof feature. “I also like the design — for what it can do, it’s pretty stylish.” The phone is encased in a stylish anti-shock urethane case available in different color versions. Even when dropped from a considerable height or after having had suffered a significant impact, the Samsung Xplorer remains intact and fully functional. What’s more, its back cover is screwed on for added battery and SIM card protection.
Most people can easily remember Rovilson Fernandez as one of the competitors in AXN’s Amazing Race Asia 2, but Rovilson is also the host of Q-11’s Ang Pinaka, an editor of Maxim Philippines, and an active sports and outdoorsman.
When asked what his favorite sports activities are, he immediately answered adventure racing. However, there haven’t been many as of recent months. “I miss adventure racing, but I’ve fully embraced running. I love running.” He also likes extreme sports, basketball, frisbee, and basically anything physical and involves the outdoors.
“I expect nothing but the best from an industry leader like Samsung,” Rovilson says of his new Samsung Xplorer, which is now available in all Samsung Mobile dealers nationwide.
