CDO gets StarStruck

MANILA, Philippines - Over the years, GMA 7’s StarStruck has become a launching pad for aspiring actors and TV personalities. It was not surprising why the auditions at SM Cagayan de Oro recently attracted hundreds of applicants who tried their luck to be the next local tinseltown’s hot properties.

The young male and female wannabes, aged 16 to 23, came from nearby provinces like Compostela Province, Bukidnon and Zamboanga.

Other hopefuls went to SM with just enough money while many cited poverty as the reason why they joined the long queue during the auditions.

The StarStruck auditions also saw half-Portuguese, half-German and half-Americans participants. They displayed their talents in singing, acting, dancing, taekwondo, balancing act, kickboxing and playing the guitar and other musical instrument.

Auditions are being held on the following dates and venues: Starting yesterday until Sept. 27 at SM Naga; and Sept. 28 to Oct. 2, GMA Network Center. Applicants must bring the original and photocopy of their birth certificate, and whole body and close-up photos. Those below 18 need a written consent from their parents, and original and photocopy of their parents’ valid ID.
