MANILA, Philippines - Smart Communications, Inc. (SMART) was one of the main partners of the General Santos (GenSan) City government and the Tuna Festival Council at the recently-held Tuna Festival celebration.
“We are proud to be GenSan’s partner in the celebration of the Tuna Festival, and we are excited to continue contributing to the prosperity of this city,” said Steve Alcoseba, head of SMART’s Sales and Distribution team for VisMin.
GenSan, gateway to the SOCKSARGEN (short for South Cotabato, Koronadal, Saranggani, GenSan) area, is one of the country’s most competitive regions, with local and foreign investments rapidly pouring into the area.
The Tuna Festival celebrates the main produce of GenSan, fishing being the city’s largest industry, and which has been largely responsible for the economic boom the city enjoys today.
SMART brought to GenSan the Hot Babe trio of Sheree, Katya Santos and Maui Taylor for an evening of song and dance at the GenSan City Oval Plaza last Sept. 4. Kamikazee (photo), which sang the highly infectious SMART Buddy jingle Me na Me performed back-to-back with the trio.
SMART’s participation in the festival highlighted its commitment to GenSan’s development, with cutting-edge communication and information technology infrastructure that benefit residents and visitors.
