MANILA, Philippines - Centro Escolar University celebrates Loyalty Day with the presentation of Service Awards to loyal faculty, non-teaching personnel, and parent-alumni at the Librada Avelino Auditorium on Sept. 11.
A longtime tradition in CEU, Loyalty Day is held every Sept. 11, birthday of Dr. Concepcion Aguila, a former administrator and loyal Escolarina who upheld the CEU principle of science and virtue through her advocacy of promoting the welfare of women.
This year, CEU honors 125 service awardees, seven of whom have served CEU for 40 years, nine for 35 years, 17 for 30 years, 14 for 25 years, 36 for 20 years and 41 for 15 years.
CEU president Dr. Ma. Cristina Padolina leads the rites.
The 40-year awardees are Rosalinda Arena, Victorio Apostol, Rhodora Bautista, Soledad Llavore, Fe Sagun, Evelyn Vallido and Arsenia Villaester. The 35 years awardees are Maria Myriam Bacud, Emma Brioso, Rosemarie Chico, Mercedes Cruzado, Virginia Laguitao, Doroteo Paglinawan, Priscilla Panlasigui, Pricila Retardo and Lopito Serrano.
