MANILA, Philippines - Big surprises come in small boxes. But with PBO (Pinoy Box Office), expect to see lots of big box-office specials as the channel celebrates six years of providing big shows, big programs and big features to its viewers.
This month, PBO will give you loads of blockbuster flicks in celebration of its anniversary with Heart 2 Heart and Directors Rule.
In Heart 2 Heart, relive the romance of yesteryears as PBO Box Office Love Teams airs back-to-back every Saturday from 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Warm your hearts with Judy Ann Santos and Wowie de Guzman in Dito Sa Puso Ko and My Pledge of Love on Aug. 15; Bobby Andrews and Angelu de Leon pair off in Laging Naroon Ka and Wala Na Bang Pag-Ibig, Aug. 22; enjoy a gathering of your favorite teenybopper love teams featuring Dingdong Dantes and Antoinette Taus, Polo Ravales and Sunshine Dizon, and Dino Guevarra and Kim delos Santos in Honey, My Love, So Sweet and Kiss Mo Ko, Aug. 29.
The country’s most respected directors show off their masterpieces with Directors Rule, a special airing of box-office movies helmed by the masters themselves, every Sunday from 3:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Emmanuel Borlaza moves to the director’s seat with Kahit Wala Ka Na, Paano Tatakasan Ang Bukas and Bituing Walang Ningning on Aug. 16; direk Ben Feleo presents his magnum opus with Pinagbiyak Na Bunga, Titser’s Enemy No. 1 and Ang Boyfriend Kong Gamol on Aug. 23; and Eddie Rodriguez caps it off with Bad Boy, Bakit Iisa Ang Puso and Maging Sino Ka Man, Aug. 30.
The celebration doesn’t end here as PBO premieres two exciting specials: Quicktrip and Back2Back2Back: All Hits Live. Quicktrip is an indie film about two gay men and the sacrifices they made to earn a living. It airs on Aug. 14, 9:30 p.m.
If you missed one of last year’s biggest sold-out concerts, you can now catch the airing of Back2Back2Back: All Hits Live featuring Side A, Freestyle and M.Y.M.P. Enjoy the music of the bands in one big concert as they perform all their greatest hits on Aug. 28, 9:30 p.m.
