MANILA, Philippines - Viva Artists Agency (VAA) is home to many of the country’s hitmakers. But did you know that VAA is also handling the careers of other singers?
Meet the other voices of VAA. First on the list is a familiar name. After he returned to the concert scene via Greatest Hits of the 80’s, Gino Padilla signed with VAA. Aside from doing shows, Gino is also working on a new album which has recently been released. The album has no title yet, but it will see him sing songs by some of his contemporaries, namely Don’t Say Goodbye, Even If, Falling For You and To Love Again. His renditions of Perfect, So Slow and Why Can’t It Be will also be on it.
Miki Hahn was introduced by VAA as part of Debutante, a youth-oriented reality show. After it ended, Miki appeared in another youth-oriented show, TV5’s Lipgloss. Her performance as Linden High’s resident vixen Steph was well-received by fans and critics alike. She is also a singer. She just finished her second album, Intimately Acoustic.
As its title suggests, the album’s songs will be acoustic renditions of old favorites. Ain’t No Sunshine, Annie’s Song, At Last, Dream A Little Dream, Never My Love, Son Of A Preacher Man — yes, the Dusty Springfield song — Tom’s Diner, What Can I Do, Whenever I Call You Friend, Yellow and You Won’t See Me will all be in it. The album’s first single, The Sign, has been released to radio and the album itself will hit stores next week.
Roselle Nava recently signed a contract with VAA and is recording a new album, her first under Viva Records. It is expected that the singles from this album will be as successful as her previous ones, namely Bakit Nga Ba Mahal Kita and Mula Sa Puso. She will also perform with Geneva Cruz and Rachel Alejandro at the Skydome of SM North EDSA, in a two-night concert titled Ladies of the 90’s. The concert will be held on Aug. 28 and 29.
