DZRH turns 70

MANILA, Philippines - Manila Broadcasting Company’s flagship station DZRH turns 70 tomorrow, July 15, and invites announcers, artists and public figures who have been part of its history to visit the network complex in Star City as guests at the retrospective exhibit which will be unveiled at the Aliw Theatre Hall. A commemorative book highlighting the station’s pivotal role in the development of radio broadcasting in the Philippines is being published in time for the occasion.

The public is also invited to watch daily exhibits featuring music ensembles from the Philippine Marines, and the Philippine Air Force along with the Conquistadores drum and bugle corps from Virgen Milagrosa Academy in San Carlos City, Pangasinan. These will be capped by a marching band competition scheduled from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. also tomorrow.

The new DZRH jingle and music video featuring Maegan Aguilar, with rocker Butch Montejo on back-up vocals, will be launched at a free concert starring Rachelle Ann Go, Yeng Constantino, Bugoy Drilon, Shamrock and the Bloomfields, which will be held at the Aliw Theatre from 6 to 10 p.m. on July 18.

True to form, DZRH will celebrate the important milestone with public service initiatives throughout the week. The three-day job fair onsite at the MBC Complex along Sotto St., just off Roxas Blvd., Pasay City ends today. Labor-intensive industries with open positions for sales, telecommunications, business process outsourcing, information technology, and other fields have been invited to join.

Through Operation Tulong will be conducted at Star Theater tomorrow in response to medical, dental, and optical needs of the public. Free legal advice will be provided to those who seek assistance.
