A pre-nuptial agreement is likely to happen between soon to be wed Korina Sanchez and Sen. Mar Roxas. “Established na ako and established na siya when we met. We both have investments, I think a pre-nuptial is okey,” explained Korina. Korina took a leave of absence from her work at ABS-CBN to concentrate on the wedding preparations. She is also talking to several local designers for her wedding gown as well as her gown for the reception. Once the wedding is done, Korina will be step-mom to Mar’s teenage son Paolo. “I will be there whenever and wherever he needs me,” she said. Mar’s family officially asked for Korina’s hand in marriage last week.
The pamanhikan was held in Korina’s family home in Merville, Parañaque. Mar staged a harana with a little help from comedians Tado and Jayson Gainza. He also read a love poem, Balagtasan style.
All the best to Mar and Korina!
Remembering Tito Dougs
Richard Gomez and Lucy Torres are still having a tough time getting over the death of their beloved manager and friend Douglas Quijano. “The hardest will be after all the people and the flowers are gone. The daily grind, the daily routine that I was so used to with Tito Dougs.”
Lucy and Tito Dougs talked everyday. “It was either I called him or he called me. Even just to say, walang balita, walang balita, babay. It was everyday. I will miss him. He would be the first person I would consult for everything. Anything that puzzled me, confused me, even matters totally outside showbiz and then I always say na after I talk to Tito Dougs, it would all be clear to me.”
Richard said he could not be where he is right now if it were not for Douglas Quijano. “Kung meron man baka hindi katulad ng kung sino ako ngayon. Baka di ako naging artista. I could have chosen a different career.”
Lucy remembers Douglas telling her that “lahat ng dinis-cover kong ayaw maging artista, ‘yon ang naging artista, ‘yon ang naging big star.” And Richard was one of them.
Douglas was not only manager and friend to the couple. He was also a counselor/mentor, especially for Lucy. “I think one of the biggest contributions of Douglas in our marriage is that when Lucy feels she has questions about me, those questions are oftentimes answered by Douglas,” said Richard.
“When I wouldn’t understand my husband, I would call Tito Dougs and he would give me the scenario and present it to me in a way that I could accept or I could understand,” Lucy said.
Lucy was so emotional about Tito Dougs passing away that she could only wish she had the chance to show how she really feels for him. “I have always envied the boys. They could hug and smother Tito Dougs with kisses and he will just giggle. I never got to hug Tito Dougs. The first time I got to hug him was in his coffin. I think I should have hugged him even if he felt squeamish about it. But I have no regrets in the love department because I knew that he knew that we all love him very much.’
We will miss you Tito Dougs, we whom you have touched with your incredible generosity, wisdom, kindness and humanity!
Sexier, more beautiful Bea
Bea Alonzo is sexier. She is looking more beautiful. Named 2003 Guillermo Mendoza Most Popular Movie Love team (with John Lloyd Cruz), 2004 Best New Movie Actress for My First Romance Star Awards for Movies, 2007 Best Actress for Maging Sino Ka Man in the USTV Students Choice Awards and 2007 Box Office Queen for the movie, One More Chance given by the Guillermo Mendoza Memorial Awards, Bea Alonzo is sporting a new look and a new package. She has done love scenes with Sam Milby and Derek Ramsay her leading men in And I love You So. She also wears a two-piece bikini in the movie.
Bea worked hard for this drop-dead gorgeous look. Afterall, she is the object of desire of her two leading men. She went through the rigors — exercise, right food — plus the fact that she is naturally sexy. “Sa States ko pa binili ‘yong two piece ko. Direk Lauren would tell me to wear the two piece everytime I had time,” she said.
