MANILA, Philippines - Hard Rock Café (HRC) presents Slapshock (photo) in a send-off concert party on May 14, 8 p.m. This is in line with the band’s nine-city North American tour which kicks off on June 12 in San Francisco, California and culminates in Chicago, Illinois on July 4.
Slapshock is composed of Jamir Garcia (vocals); Jerry Basco (guitars); Lean Ansing (guitars); Lee Nadela (bass); and Chi Evora (drums). It is the first Filipino band featured in the popular Dubai Desert Rock Festival last year. The band also had a successful concert tour in Canada.
Now on its 12th year in the music industry, Slapshock has released five full-length studio albums under EMI Philippines with hits Agent Orange, Direction and We Are One.
Slapshock just finished recording two new songs for an album due for release in the US this year. The album contains six original tracks including its carrier single Alive.
For the send-off party, other featured bands are Greyhounds, Queso, Kapatid, Even and Hilera. Fans can look forward to an evening of heavy metal music as Slapshock performs. The show is also in line with HRC’s Music For Life campaign which brings artists of different genres closer and more accessible to Filipinos.
