Tatlong Kuwento ni Lola Basyang at the Star City

MANILA, Philippines - Due to the success of Ballet Manila’s Tatlong Kuwento ni Lola Basyang last Christmas, the grand production will become a regular attraction for patrons of Star City in Pasay City every Saturday night at 7 at the Aliw Theater.

Tatlong Kuwento ni Lola Basyang wowed audiences during its premiere run last December. The crowds who watched the show, particularly the kids, were awed by the spectacular sets and colorful costumes complementing the dancers interpreting Ang Prinsipe ng Mga Ibon, Ang Kapatid ng Tatlong Marya and Ang Mahiwagang Biyulin.

“It was one of our most ambitious projects and we are glad that the gamble paid off,” says Lisa Macuja-Elizalde, artistic director and principal dancer of Ballet Manila. “Since it will become a weekly show at Star City, many will watch the all-Filipino production inspired by our beloved Lola Basyang.”

Macuja-Elizalde adds Tatlong Kuwento ni Lola Basyang highlights new choreography and original music. Stories in Tatlong Kuwento ni Lola Basyang are based on the Anvil Publishing editions of Severino Reyes’ classics and retold by author Christine Bellen.

Tickets are priced at P100. For details, call 832-6121 to 25.
