UE marks National Arts Month

The University of the East (UE) celebrates annual National Arts Month festival this month with more visual arts, cultural shows, film screenings and entertainment.

This year’s UE arts month festival with the theme Philippine Arts Festival in UE presents Atin To! Exhibit showcasing the achievements of UE’s Cultural groups. The shows at the UE Dalupan Lobby are set on Feb. 9, 12 p.m. with the UE Band, and 3 p.m., UE Chorale; Feb. 16, 12 p.m., UE Silanganan Dance Troupe and 1 p.m., UE Chorale; Feb. 18, 2 p.m., UE Silanganan Dance Troupe; Feb. 23, 12 p.m., UE Chorale with special participation of selected UE CFA students;

UE Drama Company with the zarzuela Paglipas ng Dilim at UE Theater in UE Manila, Feb. 20, 2 p.m.; Sayaw Pinoy 2009 featuring the Philippine Ballet Theater, Quezon City Ballet and the UE Silanganan Dance Troupe, UE Theater, Feb. 11, 2 p.m.;

Indie films — locally and internationally multi-awarded Ambulancia by UE CFA Faculty Richard Legaspi, Blossom, Pagtakas sa Kawalan (Escape to Nothingness), Walong Linggo (Eight Sundays) and preview of Handumanan, Dalupan Lobby, Feb. 12;

UE Chorale Videoke Challenge, Dalupan Lobby, Feb. 13, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Fine Arts Annual Exhibition by the UE CFA faculty members and students in painting, interior design, industrial design and advertising arts in celebration of the arts month and UE Caloocan Week 2009, Tan Yan Kee Academic Bldg., UE Caloocan, Feb. 17.
