What defines Kim Atienza?

There are times when an hour of conversation does not produce an iota of sensible insights about anything or nothing. (Sometimes, my fault). It takes the irreverent Fast Talk questions at the end of every Private Conversation that I do on ANC (Saturday nights at 9 with replays on Sunday nights at 9) to reveal the character of my guests. We’re doing a Direct Line version of this with Kim Atienza who aside from TV Patrol and Umagang Kay Ganda has a new show, Matanglawin that airs Monday nights after Bandila. Let’s see what happens:

The first time you saw your partner, did you want to marry her or did you want to make love with her? Why?

I wanted to do both. She was so sexy that night. We fell in love within 20 minutes, I knew in my heart and mind she was the one.

If you were to go to hell, who do you want to bring with you? Why?

I have an intense fear of hell. It’s my Catholic programming. I will not go to hell and therefore will bring no one with me.

Lights on or lights off? Why?

Lights on. I like seeing my wife in full glory.

If you were gay who among the most desirable public figures would you pursue? Why?

Someone you know. Why? Because to me intelligence is sexy.

You have an extra million pesos and you were to give this away, to whom would you give this and why?

I had an extra million I won on Deal or No Deal. I donated half to wildlife veterinarians.

To save your wife or mother, would you kill? Why?

I will kill and don’t mind being killed in the process. The essence of real love is to be willing to give up life.

Write your epitaph.

See you later.

If you have a billboard along Edsa, what is your pose and your blurb?

I’d like to see one this year for Globe or McDonalds (hint?)

What would you do if you caught your partner in bed with someone else?

I never will. Fel loves me to bits but if I do, I turn away quietly and never come back.

Would you buy love?

If I didn’t have it? Why not?

Would you pay for sex? Why?

I have no need to. But I did lots of crazy things in my youth. Lots!

One prayer would be answered right now, what would it be?

To have more physical strength so I can be capable of working even harder while giving more time to Fel  and my three beautiful kids.

What defines you?

Love and passion define me. Passion drives me to excellence.

Who are you first?

Loving father and husband to Fel and the kids and then Kuya Kim to the Pinoy TV viewing public.

Do you think you are holy or hot?

Holy in church, hot in the bedroom.

Jun Lozada, first thing that comes to mind?

Jun Lozada? Showbiz?

The greatest Filipino who ever lived?

Cannot say. Many of them are unnamed in the slums, in far flung areas...real heroes unsung, no fanfare, no media, no position of power...just doing their small bit the best they can with passion and excellence.

If you were to give your life a title, what would it be?

Kuya Kim, lover of life!

If elections were held today, among the presidentiables, who would you vote for?

Still undecided at this point. Everyone’s gray, with an agenda...someone might just shine when the time comes.

The most honest public servant?

Unidentified, unnamed career officials, public school teachers no title, no post, no power.

In a word describe yourself?

Guided.

The best thing you have done for this country?

Get out of politics and embrace media with all the love and energy I’ve got.

If you have wings, where would you go?

To bed. I’m in the office and I have a 2 a.m. call time for Umagang Kay Ganda, on location in Pampanga. I want to sleep.
