"My goal is to make a mark in every role I play. It doesnt matter how big or small the role is. Whats important is to do it properly and with flair," she says.
Indeed, there are no small roles, only small actors as proven by Dimples in shows like Esperanza, where she played villain in her first TV soap and Kay Tagal Kitang Hinintay, as John Lloyd Cruzs childhood sweetheart. Her pregnancy didnt hinder Dimples in playing the role since the story included her interesting condition towards the end.
At 19, Dimples was the picture of a happy mom who returned to acting two weeks after giving birth. Dimples was cast in All My Life followed by Minsan Pa, Dekada 70 and Noon At Ngayon. Her most recent role was in Pacquiao, The Movie, where she played Jay Manalos wife.
This time, Dimples is in Star Cinema and Viva Films latest offering Wag Kang Lilingon, a twin episode horror movie where she plays Trixie, the psychic bestfriend of Angel (Kristine Hermosa) in the Salamin episode directed by Jerry Lopez Sineneng to be shown on Nov. 15.
Trixies third eye enables her to see ghosts and warns Angel of eerie things that may happen due to spirits roaming the house and appearing in the mirror.
Dimples admits doing horror movies is not easy as one gets to act as if there are really spirits around.
"What if there are spirits from another dimension and it seems to invite you as you play the role with passion? Its really scary, but thank God no creepy things happened in the set," she says.
Dimples also says working with co-stars Kristine Hermosa and Cherry Pie Picache helped her get the feel of the character as both actresses did their parts convincingly. She admires Cherry Pie for her seriousness when it comes to work and Kristine for her ability to play the role well. Thats why Dimples considers every project a challenge. She gets to act with actors of different caliber, thus challenging her to do her best.
Dimples, who turns 22 today, will also be seen by end of this month on ABS-CBNs new drama series playing contravida, a role she considers more fitting for her. Dimples admires Jean Garcia and Bing Loyzagas performances as villains.
Although busy with work, Dimples never fails to spend quality time with her family by going out of town to Subic or Laguna during her free time. Shes grateful that her husband Boyet, working in an IT company and now in Singapore, is supportive in everything she does. She also brings her daughter Cal with her whenever possible.
"My family is my top priority and they know how much they mean to me," she shares.
Dimples also squeezes in her schedule finishing a four-year course in Culinary Arts which she says may be beneficial either in business or at home.
