Snooky has been very visible with good projects on television, thanks also to her year-long stint on GMAs Habang Kapiling Ka, the show that gave Snooky her comeback. Late last year, Snooky became part of the impressive cast of Viva Films Captain Barbell, which emerged the December filmfest top grosser. That was Snookys return to films.
The good news is that Snooky s back again with a worthy follow-up to Barbell. Snooky topbills the cast of the domestic drama, Anak Ka Ng Tatay Mo. Again Snookys new film is part of a filmfest, the Manila Film Festival this June. Insiders hope that Snookys good fortune will rub off on the new family drama, which is the initial venture of Magsaysay Films. Playing her son is Ram Revilla, the promising actor who is only 16.
"I see a lot of promise in Ram," says Snooky. "I think his star will shine even brighter, I see a lot of potential in him."
Snooky is proud to be part of this new film which is already a heavy favorite to win awards. This early, movie critics say Snookys performance as the understanding wife and mother caught between the conflict of father and son, is worthy of award and nominations.
Snooky doesnt expect anything, though. "Im just thankful for all the blessings that have come my way," says the award-winning actress.
Snooky still has a very busy year ahead of her. She will soon start work on Marina, Book 2, which will have more twists and surprises. She will also start work on Marina, The Movie, which Star Cinema plans to field in the December film festival this year, and is a potential top-grosser. If indeed, the movie version enters the festival, then Snooky can be called a "film festival queen."
