That might be the conclusion that some people would make in the light of the recent break-up between KC Montero and Geneva Cruz who, just like most pairs in showbiz, hadnt really admitted that they were ever "on."
Another DPA (whos close to both Geneva and KC), reacting to Funfares banner story yesterday about the couples unexpected(?) split-up, gave her own input on what she claimed to be the "real score."
"It was KC who initiated the break-up," the clandestine DPA said. "And Geneva reacted by turning hysterical."
Although not as "hysterical," that was also the reaction of Nikki Valdez when KCs brother Troy decided to (unilaterally?) end their barely year-old romance last year, leaving the poor Nikki undeniably shattered.
So what is it about the Montero brothers that make them treat their girlfriends in such a manner? Could it be their "American" upbringing? Or are they just the habulin ng chicks type so they dont really care if they drop a girl (like a hot potato?) because they can easily find another one?
As Ive been saying, both Geneva and KC have been mum on their romance even when it was going strong so how can we expect either or both of them to now speak up on their split-up?
Meanwhile, lets console Geneva by telling her that, for sure, she can find a better man so she should stop sulking (if she still is).
Said the DPA, "By and by, makakakuha rin ang mga Montero na yan ng katapat nila."
Not another pogi-crazy "local," I suppose.
Somebody snubbed somebody but thats not what this item is all about.
According to somebody who was there, Dominic and Marvin very pointedly gave Claudine the cold-shoulder treatment, ignoring Claudine as if she didnt exist at all. The very "gentlemanly" attitude of the duo was obviously in sympathy with their late MTB and Whattamen co-star and good friend Rico Yan.
Earlier that afternoon, Claudines taped interview with Boy Abunda, in which she told all that had to be told, was aired on The Buzz, giving the other side of the coin, so to speak.
Anyway, did you think that Claudine simply shrugged off Dominic and Marvins "gallant" stance? Guess again.
"What Claudine did," according to the eyewitness, "was gently approach Dominic and Marvins table and give them a piece of her mind."
Claudine said something (sorry but I cant reprint it here) to the two guys that left them temporarily speechless.
(If you want to find out what Claudine said, ask her or ask either Dominic or Marvin.)
Maybe next time they bump into her, Dominic and Marvin would be kinder to Claudine.
Dear Mr. Lo:
Mang Levi Celerio is dead. It is regrettable that the music industry was not able to pay him a fitting tribute while he was still alive. I have been suggesting this for years but nobody paid attention.
My rationale for such a tribute while the honoree is still alive and kicking is the fact that he or she will be able to thank personally and acknowledge all the people who are giving him or her such a tribute. We have this "bad habit" of singing paeans or praises when the honoree is already inside a "box" and could no longer appreciate it.
Let us start paying tribute to our veteran movie stars like Gloria Romero, Eddie Garcia, Fernando Poe, Jr., Dolphy, etc. while they are still around.
Whats up?
= Congratulations to Fe Ligaya Iseguirre who passed the recent bar exams. Shes now Atty. Fe.
= Geneva Cruz is cutting managerial ties with Arnold Vegafria and going back to her old manager, Girlie Rodis.
= Rustom Padilla is now managed by Jacob Fernandez who shouldnt have a hard time because Rustoms former manager, N.C., paved the way to many good opportunities for Rustom. I hope Rustoms relationship with Jacob will last.
