Lea’s Saigon stint ends on Dec. 24

Those dying to see Lea Salonga perform as the Vietnamese lass Kim have only until Dec. 24 to see her in the musical Miss Saigon.

Lea, who has won the Sir Lawrence Olivier and Tony Awards for her portrayal of Kim, will be leaving for New York to star in the Miss Saigon Broadway production together with Will Chase who has left Filipinos in awe because of his performance as American G.I. Chris in the Manila production.

With the Broadway production closing in January, it was but fitting for the original cast members like Lea and Will to reprise their roles in New York.

But Miss Saigon fans in Manila will still be treated to world-class performances as equally-talented stage actresses and singers Cezarah "Ces" Campos and Miriam Valmores take on the role of Kim in the Cameron Mackintosh production which been a great hit in Manila.

Will Chase will be replaced by Scott Anson with Shawn Kilpatrick as Chris understudy.

Leo Valdez and Jonjon Briones will continue to play the role of the Engineer with Robbie Guevarra and Ian Venida as understudies. Thuy will still be played by Robert Seña with Arvin Quirante as alternate and Jojo Urquico as understudy.
