Goal for Gab set Sunday at DBTC

CEBU, Philippines - Football is fun, but playing it for a good cause adds another dimension to the game.

This as “Goal for Gab” will kick off on Sunday with a total of 14 companies set to see action at the Don Bosco Technology Center field in Punta Princesa, this city.

The teams that have confirmed participation come from Xlibris, Convergys, Timex, NCR, Lear, NKC, NEC, HPOI, Lexmark, Accenture, Stream, Teletech, Aegis PS (UEAFA), and E-Performax.

This is an inter-BPO/company event, which aims to raise funds for Baby Gabrielle.

The beneficiary is a nine-month-old girl diagnosed with “tetralogy of fallot.”

According to Wikipedia, TOF is a congenital heart defect, which is classically understood to involve four anatomical abnormalities. It is also the most common cause of the blue baby syndrome.

The baby needs surgery, which will cost around P800 thousand to P1 million.

Baby Gab is a daughter of an officemate of event organizer, Limhar “Ipang” Baunsit at NCR.

This Sunday’s action is sanctioned by CFA.

“Through football, we are helping the parents of baby Gabrielle in a little way,” said Baunsit.  – THE FREEMAN
