CEBU, Philippines - Daanbantayan's wonder boy BJ Pepito brought honor for his hometown after scoring double victories in the recent SEL-J Sports' 2012 Gov. Khalid Q. Dimaporo International Motocross at the Mindanao Civic Center in Tubod, Lanao Del Norte.
The 10 year-old Pepito, a grade 5 pupil of Constancio P. Go Memorial Learning Center, bagged the 50cc and 65 cc category titles.
The event, which is also the fourth leg of the 2012 Enersel Forte Philippines National Motocross Series, had18 other top peewee riders from all over the country, but Pepito managed to go home victorious even without the aid of teammates to support his bid.
Impressed by Pepito's performance, boxing superstar Manny Pacquiao's long-time trainer Buboy Fernandez, who is also into motocross, promised the young rider a new dirt bike this year.
The young Pepito so far has won almost all races he joined in this year.
Pepito, who races under the banner of Sel-J Sports Racing team, hopes to get more support from his school especially during his travel to different parts of the country. (FREEMAN)
