CEBU, Philippines - The ageless Pepo Rubi leads the race for the Rider of the Year in this year’s MS Motosuit Motocross Series as he dominated the premiere classes after six legs.
Rubi leads the expert class with 167 points, way ahead of teenage rider John Flores with 119 points while Dondon Yuson has 109 points and Jon-Jon Adlawan has 77 points.
In the pro open, Rubi has gained 193 points so far followed by Yuson with 107 and Adlawan at third spot also with 77 points.
BJ Pepito and Martin Nuñez also lead in two classes.
Pepito leads the mini 65 cc with 200 points and the mini 85 cc division with 182 points while Nuñez paces the novice open production with 148 points and the intermediate division with 153 points.
Donkey Sanchez, on the other hand, spearheads the overall crown in the open enduro with 193 points followed by Rey Quirol with 179 points and JC Obligado with 134 points.
JC Obligado leads the local enduro division with 194 points followed by Alex Abalo with 178 and Rey Quirol with 151 points.
In the beginner’s production, on top of the standings so far is Denmark Supatan with 184 points followed by Quirol with 148 and Jougie Basco with 90 points while the underbone category has Kent Limpag leading with 102 points.
In the executive A, its Roscel Gungob on top with 205, Jun Enriquez in the executive B with 204 points and Sergio Chua in the executive C with 137 points. — THE FREEMAN
