CEBU, Philippines - Seasoned and neophyte players will try to outwit each other in the 2012 Independence Day Scrabble Open today at the dance studio of Cebu City Sports Center.
The top five players in the overall standings will take home cash prizes. Only the top two, however, will receive cash prizes.
The top three finishes in both the elementary and secondary divisions will also get corresponding cash prizes, while the top 10 in the overall rankings will get free copies of the updated list of 2-3-4 letter words.
A unique scrabble related t-shirts will be raffled for the participants in-between rounds.
Entry fee is pegged at P150 for professionals, P75 for high school and college and P50 for elementary students,
The games will be supervised by tournament director Dr. Marsha Malbas assisted by Roger Abella as chief arbiter. (FREEMAN)
