CEBU, Philippines - The country’s top netters led by Davis Cupper Johnny Arcilla are all set to return to Cebu for the 2012 Cebuana Lhuillier Tennis Tournament slated on April 14-21 at the Baseline Sports and Recreation Center.
Among the members of the Philippine Team, however, only Arcilla will be playing here. He will defend his title in both the singles and doubles event.
The other stars to watch out for include Onyok Anasta, Rolando Ruel, Jr., Patrick John Tierro, Ronard Joven, Jurence Mendoza, Alex Lazaro, Kim Ivor Saraza, Arcie Maño, Mark Anthony Alcoseba, Roel Capangpangan, Juvan Divinagracia, Arvin Ruel, and Antonio Sagansay.
Cebuano Israel “RJ” Abarquez, on the other hand, has been included in the top 16 cast. He won't go through the qualifying round anymore after being “upgraded” by the organizers since the no.10 Ralph Kevin Barte will not be able to join this year’s action due to summer classes. Abarquez is ranked 20 by PHILTA.
The qualifying round will take place this weekend also at Baseline. The total of numbers players who will be included in the main draw will be known tomorrow yet. - THE FREEMAN
