CEBU, Philippines - Batted sports patron Jesse Bernad is the only Cebuano among the 12 Filipino coaches who will have a rare opportunity to witness the training camp of Major League Baseball’s Arizona Diamondbacks in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Bernad and the rest of the Phl delegation left for the United States yesterday, with hopes of learning new coaching techniques in baseball that they can apply for their training program here in the country.
Bernad’s active involvement with the United States (US) Embassy and Philippine Sports Commission (PSC)-spearheaded events gave him the edge to be one of the chosen few.
Bernad and the Pinoy coaches will train with the Diamondbacks for two weeks.
“Training in the Major League Baseball is both a blessing and a dream come true. Besides that, I hope to meet all my connections in the US who want to donate more equipment for us," said Bernad. (FREEMAN)
