Queen City falls preyto Pachanga in UFL

CEBU, Philippines - The Queen City United FC fell short on its target as it bowed to Pachanga FC, 1-0, in the second division of the United Football League (UFL) yesterday at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.

Freddy Gonzalez punched in the game-winning goal for Pachanga of coach Nonoy Fegidero.

QCU coach Mario Ceniza expressed disappointment on the performance of his wards as he felt they could have done better.

“I’m a little bit disappointed with the team because we're not able to fight well in the midfield which I believe we are strong,” said Ceniza.

Ceniza fielded in team captain Jan Michael Flores, Hanesin Prince Anthony, Rene Menchavez, Neil Ryan Lerio, Junard Aguilar, Lehmar Baunsit, Bryan Eborda, Marion Cubelo, Adlai Marcel Rivera and Charles Villarta as his starting unit.

In the first half, QCU’s Adlai Marcel Rivera was thrown out of the game after incurring two yellow cards.

Despite playing with only 10 players, the QCU booters were able to hold off Pachanga until Gonzalez came in to break their hearts.

"We still have a lot of work to do. We have to work on many things,” Ceniza said. (FREEMAN)
