CEBU, Philippines - Kenyan Josphat Kiptani and Christy Sevilleno-Tutor had the spotlights on them after winning Unilab’s Run United Regional Series’ final leg at the Cebu IT Park in Apas, this city.
Kiptani finished the premiere men’s 21-kilometer run in an hour, 14 minutes and 49 seconds.
Second place went to John Philip Duenas who clocked 1:19.19 while Dandy Maturan landed third in his 1:21.43 clocking.
In the distaff side, Sevilleno-Tutor got a sigh of relief when she saw the newly-crowned Milo National Marathon queen, Mary Grace de los Santos enlisted in the 10-km run instead of the 21-km battle.
Without de los Santos, Sevilleno-Tutor practically had no formidable opponent and crossed the finish line in 1:35.24.
Madelyn Carter finished second with 1:42.49 and Leshney Abella was third.
On the other hand, de los Santos, who joined the 10-K as her recovery run, salvaged the top spot over Merlita Arias-Dunkin and triathlete Rochelle Tan.
The men’s side saw Glenn Arellano outsmarting Riez Enriquez for the top spot while Reprinel Banzon placed third.
Jorry Ycong got the men’s 3-km title while Cherry Andrin dominated the girls’ division.
Cherry’s two other sisters, Lovely and Jhean posted a 1-2 finish in the girls’ 5-km run while Lynle Cardenas settled third.
