CEBU, Philippines -Lexmark Stallions and Stream Blue Devils upended separate foes in contrasting fashion to set up a championship showdown in the Cebu Powerade E-Leagues Basketball Tournament 2011 the other day at the City Sports Club Cebu gym.
Lexmark dethroned the Convergys Wolves, 91-83, while Stream had to pass through the wringer before booking the remaining finals ticket via a 66-65 cliffhanger over the Teletech Titans.
Meanwhile, Stream's Sylvester Millevo made history in the fledgling league after bagging both the MVP and Rookie of the Year honors.
Millevo automatically made it to the Mythical Five along with Franco Cipriano (Lexmark), Rod Mangubat (Stream), Clifford Amarado (Aegis PS) and Sherwin Resilla (Teletech).
Armand Colina of Stream was named Coach of the Year, while the rest of the individual awardees include Dennis Poquita of Opinionology (steals), Randy Bihag of Accenture (scoring), Franco Cipriano of Lexmark (rebounds),Ryan Veloso of Aegis PS (blocks) and JP Escudero of Wipro (assists).
