CEBU, Philippines - Genesis Servania, ALA Boxing Gym's newest catch from Bacolod City, will face a new opponent for his debut in the eighth installment of the 'Pinoy Pride' series after his initial foe Gerson Guerrero of Mexico failed in the medical examinations.
Servania is one of the ALA fighters who will see action in the highly-anticipated “Pinoy Pride 8:Philippines vs. Mexico” this September 10 at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino.
Instead of Guerrero, the undefeated Servania (14-0, 5KOs) will now be pitted against the dangerous and unbeaten Mexican warrior Mario “Huracan” Macias (22-0, 10KOs).
Macias will be the toughest test in Servania’s budding career as he is known to be an aggressive and strong puncher, but the ALA Gym fighter is ready to prove he has what it takes to be one of the rising prospects from the famed boxing gym in Cebu.
The 19-year-old Servania is coming off back-to-back knockout wins against Prell Tupas last April in Bacolod and Richard Donaire last July at Waterfront Hotel.
In the main event of the slambang show put up by ALA Promotions and ABS-CBN Sports, world title contender Milan “El Metodico” Melindo will vie for the vacant WBO Intercontinental flyweight title against three-time world title challenger Francisco "Chiquita" Rosas. – THE FREEMAN
