CEBU, Philippines - Cebuano batted sports enthusiasts can look forward to the Mayor Soc Fernandez International Softball Tournament this Sunday at the Talisay Central School.
Since its only a one-day tournament, organizers decided to limit the number of teams to only four – Team Pattaya, Thailand, Team Salazar, Landing of Lilo-an and Team Jaclupan of Talisay.
This is the second time for Team Pattaya to visit and play in Cebu, the first one was held at the South Road Properties.
It will be an exciting battle to watch as Team Pattaya wants no less than revenge against Team Salazar, which outsmarted them in the championship game.
The tournament will be a slo-pitch action with teams playing in a double-round elimination.
Cash prizes from the team from Thailand and trophies from the city government of Talisay City will be up for grabs.
After this event, organizer Michael Lopez in a press conference held at the Sports Exchange Bar and Grill said, they will start off its grassroots development program for baseball here.
“This is our way of helping promoting softball and baseball here in Cebu,” Lopez said. – (FREEMAN)
