CEBU, Philippines - Rex Gamallo, Philip Duenas, Mary Joy Tabal and Team Fastball sizzled in various sporting events being featured in the 2011 Cebu Sports Festival fest at the South Road Properties.
Gamallo topped the off-road challenge, Duenas and Tabal lorded it over in the sundown run, while the Fastball batters dominated the baseball action.
Off-Road
Gamallo showed off his maneuvering skills and timing with finesse to rule the off-road action. He defeated Wendyl Camus for the top spot.
Ramil Cortes wound up third, while Archie Beltran and Heath Clif occupied the fourth and fifth spots, respectively.
Sundown Run
Duenas and Tabal emerged as the fastest entries in the 15-kilometer race.
Duenas clocked in 52 minutes and 47 seconds to outclass Adonis Singson (53:01), while Joebert Carolino wound up third in 53:22.
In the distaff side, Tabal snatched the crown in one hour, four minutes and one second. Christy Sevilleno-Tutor placed second in 1:04.57 followed by Rachel Limtong in 1:28.40.
Mary Grace de los Santos dominated the 5K run in 19:20.69. She was trailed by Aiza Suaybaguio and Jean Andrin.
Jorry Ycong lorded it over in the men’s side in 16:56.42 followed by Jess Gonzaga, while Michael Estera and Miriam Miranda topped their respective classes in the 3K.
Baseball
The Fastball bets took home a championship trophy and a third place finish.
Fastball dumped Punta Princesa, 21-12, to rule the tee-ball challenge.
Punta Princesa, however, did not go home empty-handed as it beat Tisa to clinch the crown in the little league division.
Fastball and Labangon ended up sharing the third place honors. – THE FREEMAN
