JKA to hold exam, tournaments

CEBU, Philippines - The Japan Karate Association Asia-Pilipinas will hold an international exam for Dan (black belt) promotion on May 28 at the City Sports Club-Cebu.

JKA-Pilipinas director Vic Luna invited karate enthusiasts to join the one-day activity, which will be conducted by Shihan Masahiko Tanaka, JKA’s 9th Dan. It will start at 8 am and ends at 3 pm.

The following day, JKA will stage a Shotokan Karate Invitational Championship at the University of San Carlos (USC)-Main gym along Sanciangko Street, this city.

Luna said the competition will be participated in by all Shotokan karate clubs all over the country.

The twin events are all open to the public for free. — THE FREEMAN
