CEBU, Philippines – Swashbuckling action awaits the up and coming riders from the Vis-Min region as a total of 18 categories will be contested in the Keiz BJ Motors Invitational Motocross Competition on October 31 in Brgy. Caduawan, Tabogon, Cebu.
The latest addition in the highly-anticipated race organized by Kiez BJ Motors top honcho Siegfred Ornopia in parnership with his brother and MS Motosuit big boss Lou Ornopia are the 'Bugno Sila' (for gays), pewee special limited edition, the habal-habal (motorcycle-for-hire) Side B and the 'Wanggits' for senior citizens.
Ornopia, a recipient of special citation from the Sportswriters Association of Cebu (SAC) annual awards two years ago, said neophyte 'habal-habal' drivers won't have dif-ficulty in reaping honors as the old ones will compete in the Side B class.
Ornopia added they include the "Bugno Sila" category exclusive for gay riders to pump up excitement and liveliness to the event, which serves as one of the highlights of the 34th birthday celeberation of Siegfred's affable wife Ellen Ornopia.
To further spice up the adrenaline-boosting contest co-sponsored by Sunriser Manufacturing Corp., high-profile daredevils from Manila will be coming over to show off their maneuvering skills and aerial stunts courtesy of SEL J Sports, one of the private entities actively involved in the promotion of motocross all over the country.
"I want to make sure it's going to be a very exciting and highly entertaining race that's why I invited top riders from Manila and here in the Vis-Min region. There's also a big possibility that Glen Aguilar, the country's undisputed motocross king, will be here and join the action," said Ornopia.
For the second time, top caliber racers Kimboy Pineda of Davao, Burnok Mangu-song, Ted Conde of Ozamiz and Erwin Ramas-Uypitching of Dumaguete will also be on hand to treat the Caduawanons to a dazzling show of electrifying and gravity-defying moves.
In the mini-class category, among the riders to watch out for are the Galla broth-ers. They will be under the guidance of their father and legendary motocross personality Dodong Galla, who once called the shots for the Yamaha Racing Team.
The Galla siblings are expected to face tough challenge from the mainstays of Ga-stador Racing Team of Daanbantayan, Tamtam Largosa of Carmen, and the dreaded Keiz BJ Racing Team, which will parade back its star rider Brylle Ornopia who is coming off a six-month layoff due to injury.
Meanwhile, Ornopia advised all the participants to strictly follow the race rules and regulations adding that the competition will promptly start at 9 am. Packed lunch will also be distributed during the short break at noon. (FREEMAN)
