CEBU, Philippines - The way to conquering the world has been opened to the Cebuanos anew with the staging of the 2010 Philippine Darts Open Singles’ Cebu leg at Baseline Sports and Recreation Center this afternoon.
The Cebu leg is one of the four regional legs scheduled in search for the country’s representatives to the Ladbrokes.com World Darts Championships in London set December 16 to January 3. The two previous legs were done in Malate, Manila and Olongapo, while the Mindanao leg will be on October 10 in Cagayan de Oro.
The top eight darters in each leg will then advance to the National finals on October 16 to 17 at NU Grille, Ambassador Hotel in Malate, Manila.
Although the Cebu leg is a Visayas selection of sorts, darters from outside the said region can still join the battle.
Even the top-ranked NDFP darter, Boie Parfan III will see action here in Cebu.
With that, Cebuano darters are expected to be in their best form in order to get slots for the national finals and hopefully for the World Championships.
Entry fee is pegged at P400. Registration is set to start at 10am and will end at 12 noon. (THE FREEMAN)
