The Dragons posted a 97-61 rout of the Baby Jaguars to advance into the semifinal round of the tournament.
It was not simply marching forward for the Dragons, but moving on in style with a record to show.
The Dragons will wait for the three other qualifiers into the semifinals, which will be a single round robin series.
It will be back to square one for all teams at the start of the ‘final four’ round.
The Dragons, as if running on high octane fuel, started the game with an 18-0 run. The Baby Jaguars scored their first point only after Ray Leyson split his charities with two minutes left in the first period.
The first quarter ended with CEC on top, 26-4.
The four points scored by the Baby Jaguars is a record in the CESAFI as the fewest points in a quarter.
At the half, it was 49-22 in favor of the Dragons.
The largest lead posted by CEC was 39 points, 87-48, with 5:53 left in the ballgame.
While the lead had been insurmountable, this did not however stop the Dragons from committing a lot of fouls during the game.
Nike Montalvo led the Dragons with 22 points.
Benjamin James Zosa added 19 points while James Sumayang, Mark Olayon and Roy Villarias also finished in double figures.
Renzo Senining also scored 22 points to lead the Baby Jaguars while Neriel Magdali and Roland Agustin Hermosilla added 12 and 10 points, respectively. (BANATSPORTS)
