CEBU, Philippines - It has always been said that there are no good things that are not rewarded. Ask Cebu Eastern College (CEC) Dragons rookie coach Jerry Jaranilla what it is about.
Rewards come in many forms – be it money, job and the least one could expect is getting honor and respect.
For steering the Dragons to sure no. 2 spot and rewriting school history in the field of basketball especially in the ongoing Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation, Inc. (CESAFI), Jaranilla got his instant reward and that is to coach in the high school All-Star Game come September 19.
CESAFI commissioner Felix O. Tiukinhoy Jr. personally informed Jaranilla during a visit to the CEC Athletics Office just recently where he also conveyed the same information to CEC board members Sammy and Jefferson Go.
The Dragons, once taunted as the CESAFI’s perennial doormat have totally turned things around this year.
This season, the only loss of the CEC Dragons came against the seasoned University of the Visayas (UV) Baby, 76-81. – THE FREEMAN
