CEBU, Philippines – The AMBL Enterprises pulled off a 90-89 squeaker over the taller J.M.A squad in the Barangay Association of Ramos (BAR) Fiesta Cup Inter-Color basketball tournament at the Benjamin Solon Memorial Gym in Brgy. Cogon-Ramos, this city.
J.M.A. took a 50-44 lead at the intermission behind the tandem of Julius Gastador and Ritchie Tecson, but AMBL waxed hot in the third to open up a 12-point edge, 76-64.
J.M.A. came up with its own furious run to tie the count twice before grabbing the upperhand, 89-88, with just a few seconds left to play.
In the final sequence of the match, AMBL's Ronald Libre pulled a crucial offensive rebound and quickly passed the ball to Robert Abasolo, who then converted a buzzer-beating undergoal stab for the game-clincher.
Abasolo paced AMBL with 20 points, while Lito Navarro, Dindo Sausa and Fruitz Sullano connived for 34 markers.
