CEBU, Philippines - Eric Deen displayed the form that won him several club titles as he shot four-under-par 68 last Saturday to take the lowest gross honors in the June Monthly Medal of Cebu Country Club.
Deen fired nines of 35 and 33 strokes en route to another spectacular performance in the golf course that he knows like the palm of his hand.
The class A title went to Evans Tumaliwan, who pulled past Ramontito Garcia and Wendell Yap in the countback. They all had net scores of 67 strokes.
Garcia, one of the most celebrated members of the club, settled for the runner-up honors.
The class B title went to Willy Suarez with a net score of 68 off a gross 84 strokes.
Michael Go, who is now based at the Wack-Wack Golf and Country Club in Muntinlupa, made the most out of his trip home to finish as runner-up with a net score of 70 strokes.
Noel Ybañez shot a net score of 66 strokes to take the class C title while runner-up honors went to Steve Alcoseba with a net score of 70.
Jose Palma, Jr. won classD with a net score of 72 strokes while runner-up honors went to Fruto Teodorico with 75.
Masatsugu Ochiai topped the seniors’ division with a net score of 67. Runner-up honors went to Joseph Yukayguan with a net score of 72.
Baek Mun Ki won the title for the guest division scoring a net 74 while runner-up honors went to Teddy Almario with a net score of 75. —NLQ (THE FREEMAN)
