CEBU, Philippines - Those who are interested to race in the five-kilometer division of the highly-anticipated Cebu City Marathon have only until today to register. The event is slated on January 10 starting and ending at the Asiatown IT Park.
Runners can enlist at the Active Zone of Ayala Center Cebu, while Manila-based individuals can go to Runnr at Boni High Street or register on-line via the event's official website, www.cebumarathon.com.
Entry fee is pegged at P250 inclusive of a singlet and a race pack.
Participants under the 5K bracket could not avail though of the high-tech timing device called the ChampionChip as it is alloted only for those who will compete in 21K and 42K action.
Aside from customized medals, big cash prizes are at stake for the top performers in the different categories.
The champion in both men and women's division will receive P5,000 each, while the second and third will take home P2,500 and P1,250, respectively. The fourth and fifth will pocket P750 and P500. The sixth to 10th will get a consolation prize of P250 apiece.
A total of 500 long-distance runners have already confirmed their entry in the full-marathon race, 650 in the half-marathon and 1,600 in the 5K run, so far.
Meanwhile, the race packets will be distributed during the race expo at the Active Zone of the Ayala Center Cebu on January 6 to 8.
