BIR nips Green in USC PTCA caging

CEBU, Philippines - The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) hoopsters led by skipper Yoli Meso snapped out of their three-game losing skid at the expense of the USC-Green squad, 82-71, in the USC-South Campus PTCA, Inc. basketball tournament at the school’s covered court.

From a 20-14 edge at the end of the first period, BIR further ripped the game apart at halftime, 43-29. So hot the BIR mainstays were that they even upped their lead to a 22-point bulge, 70-48, leaving USC-Green in disarray the rest of the way.

USC-Green staged a 23-12 rally in the windup but time wasn’t on its side.

Ex-SWU Cobra Jessie Lumantas and Jun Santiago paced BIR with 11 points each, while Christopher Diamos, Clint del Rosario, Jason Rodriguez and Meso chipped in 10 markers apiece.

Dante Quijano paced USC-Green with 22 points, while Cebu vice gubernatorial bet Glen Anthony Soco banged in 14 points.
