CEBU, Philippines - Cebuana Leiszl Lumindas-Gitaruelas came out as the best placed Pinay participants in the 23rd Mt. Kinabalu International Climbathon recently in Sabah, Malaysia.
Lumindas-Gitaruelas landed sixth in a field of close to a hundred entries in the elite division.
Although she fell short from her target of finishing third in the women’s division, Gitaruelas went home happy and contented with her performance.
Gitaruelas, an aerobic instructor and a competitive runner, reached the summit in two hours, 35 minutes and 23 seconds and completed the lung-busting race in 3:57.02.
Gitaruelas’ fellow Cebuana Merlita Arias-Dunkin wound up at 23rd place with the time of 5:51.34.
Gitaruelas and Arias were backed up in their Malaysia sojourn by Habagat, Paragon Fitness Gym, Francis Cosgrave, Tyron Tan, Fredrick Ong, Jr., Cebuana Lhuillier and Phiten.–Caecent No-ot Magsumbol (FREEMAN NEWS)
