CEBU, Philippines - The organizers of the 2009 MS Motosuit Motocross Series finally got the green light from Mayor Shun J. Shimura to stage the 12th leg of the said event this Sunday in Daanbantayan.
Dubbed as the 1st Mayor Shun J. Shimura Motocross Competition, at least 60 riders from all over Cebu and other areas in the Visayas and Mindanao are expcected to join the lung-busting race.
“For quite sometime, I’ve waited for this day. I look forward to seeing once again the race track full of roaring action and thrills, keeping an eye every minute of the race and not to miss every action,” said MS Motosuit big boss Lou Ornopia.
Among the speed demons to watch out for are Pepo Rubi of Quickflight Racing, Jon-jon Adlawan, Weng Yapparcon, Clark Wagas and the dreaded Abellar brothers.
Organized by Malou Pepito of BJ Pepito Racing Team, this is the second time that Daanbantayan is hosting a leg for this year’s series.
The event is also supported by Mariquita Salimbangon-Yeung, Vice Mayor Maria Luisa Loot, the municipal council of Daanbantayan and Castrol Power One.
Meanwhile, Ornopia announced that this Sunday’s race will be shown next month under the second season of the MS Motocross TV at CCTN Channel 47. (THE FREEMAN)
