Super Idols notch sixth straight victory

 CEBU, Philippines - The Super Idols led by ace playmaker Ramsey Quijano walloped YLAC, 67-61, for their sixth straight victory in the 3rd Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) basketball season at the Capitol Parish Gym along Escarios street, this city.

From a close first-half battle, the Super Idols waxed hot in the third period behind the sterling performances of Benjo Santiago and Fermin Pepito who eventually finished with 26 and 16 points, respectively.

Val Ligutan scored 22 points for YLAC followed by Resty Arnaiz with 13.

Earlier, the Pañeros pulled a 71-70 cliffhanger over Casino Rubbing Alcohol, to snap out of their five-game losing spell, while the Pecandela Law Firm also barged into the win column courtesy of a 74-58 demolition of the Pistons.

In the final match of the day, Mt. Zion scored a 57-54 upset of the Opascor Eagles to even its win-loss record to 3-3.

Jun Felicitas topped the Pañeros with 21 points, Mark Gamallo paced Pecandela with 14 markers, while Benjo Macion led Mt. Zion with 11 points. – THE FREEMAN
