CEBU, Philippines - Powerfloor scored a vengeful 77-70 victory over Bio-Fresh to wrest the championship of the United Architects Basketball Club (UABC) Season 3 billed as the “2nd Davies Cup” recently at the CEC gym.
Rock-solid center Antonio “Jay-R” Decatoria powered his way to a 22-point finish on top of 13 rebounds and two steals en route to claiming his second straight Finals MVP award.
Buck Richnold Sia also had a monster showing of 18 points and 18 rebounds, Lord Ong tossed in 15 points, eight rebounds, while Klein Baladya submitted 15 points, six rebounds and two assists for Powerfloor, which rode on a fierce final-half show to gun down the hard-fighting Bio-Fresh.
Explosive pointman Criz Matunog paced Bio-Fresh with 31 points and seven rebounds. Vincent Sesbreño cashed in 14 points, 12 rebounds, two assists and two blocks in a losing cause.
Earlier, Sun & Rain regained its shooting touch to spank Megacryl, 89-79, and lift the third place trophy.
Prolific outside gunner Michael Cinco topscored for Sun & Rain with 31 points, 15 rebounds, and nine assists, while Duane Anino contributed 13 markers and three rebounds.
Meanwhile, the 3rd UABC All-Star Game will be played tomorrow at 1 pm still at the CEC gym. Prior to the game proper, there will be a free throw, 2-ball and 3-point shooting competitions.
