CEBU, Philippines - The Super Idols of coach Bong Pepito extended their winning streak to five after an 83-60 rout of Pistons in the 3rd Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) basketball tournament at the Capitol Parish gym along Escario Street, this city.
Despite having only six players, the Super Idols battered the Pistons at will, blowing up an early 24-13 lead into a 23-point bubble at halftime, 45-22.
Benjo Santiago led the Super Idols with 31 points, while Flor Yosores finished with 18 points spiked with three triples.
Giovanni Sususco and Lito Ortiz paced the Pistons with 16 and 13 points, respectively.
Earlier, Mark Gamallo sank two pressure-packed free throws with six seconds left in the contest to power the Pecandela Law Firm to a 79-78 squeaker over YLAC, 79-78, while the Casino Rubbing Alcohol nipped Mt. Zion, 84.80.
In the main match, the Pañeros dumped the winless Opascor Eagles, 78-65.
Gamallo netted 16 points, but it was Sam Malazarte who topscored for Pecandela with 20 markers.
