CEBU, Philippines – As the going gets tough, promising Cebuano go-kart racer Tonyo Carcel never gave up, paving the way for him to score a come-from-behind victory in the second leg of the Asian Karting Open Championships the other day in Carmona, Cavite.Carcel, a student of Paref-Springdale, was starting out 12 in the grid. Inspite of that, he managed to overtake the frontliners one by one until he reached the top.

Carcel posted the best time of 48.3 seconds in the race.
To make his Carmona sojourn more memorable, Carcel also bagged the Yamaha Cup junior title under the National Series. John Castelar finished second followed by Milo Rivera.
