No Care Racing gets major boost with QQ cars from Chery

CEBU, Philippines – Team No Care Racing (NCR) got a major boost in its quest for supremacy in autocross racing circuit with the entry of Chery Philippines, makers of the popular QQ cars, as one of its corporate backers.

As an offshot of their partnership, Chery Automobile Cebu marketing director Raymond Basubas said in a press conference yesterday at Vienna Kaffehaus along Gorodo Avenue that they will be lending QQ cars to Team NCR to bolster its championship bid in 1st SM City-Cebu Motorsports Weekend Kartzone Autocross Series on June 26-27.

“Our mission is to win it all. We call our team No Care, but we really care on winning. With Chery supporting us, I believe it would be of our advantage because QQ cars are very agile,” said award-winning sportsman Alan “Big Al” G. Choachuy, one of Team NCR’s founding members.

Team NCR, which had been performing remarkably in all races it joined, will be bannered by Jong King, who logged in the fastest time during the second leg of the Philippine Regional Autocross Championships two months ago at the back of the Cebu International Convention Center (CICC).

Aside from King and Choachuy, the other vaunted NCR mainstays include Philip Khan “Lik-Lik” Lim, Robert “Bobbie” Pangilinan, Eric Khe, Anthony Khe, Norris See, Eric “Mr. Sexy” Canama, and Dennis Corro.

Lim said they expect to meet tough opposition from drivers of Team Hilton, Katzone, and DGL Racing of national record-holder David G. Lim.

“But I think it would be an even playing field because unlike in past the races, there will be no pratice session this time. Racing in an unfamiliar racetrack will truly test our maneuvering skills,” said Philip Lim, who will again parade his favorite Honda Jazz.

The competitors in this weekend’s event will be classified into their level of skills: beginners, novice, and expert. The categories to be featured are street, super street, modified, open, all wheel and other special classes.
