CEBU, Philippines - Charlie Berberio nailed back-to-back victories in the 2009 Run For Sight, while singer/actress Donna Cruz-Larrazabal took home her first ever crown in the women’s open via the June edition of the monthly series yesterday at the Cebu Doctors’ University in Mandaue City.
Berberio ruled once again with an improved time of 36 minutes and 20.49 seconds.
Elmo Clarabal came out second with a 36:28.19 clocking, while Elvin Rey Flores settled for third with the time of 38:20.85.
Biker turned runner RJ Balbuena landed fourth in 44:29.80. Kristian Cabahug placed fifth in 44:30.14 followed by Dr.Yong Larrazabal in 45:15.38.
The seventh to 10th placers in the men’s side were Harem Deiparine (47:29.79), Jojo Cañete (49:12.67), Steve Jao (49:27.80) and Jofre Nastor (50:16).
Donna Cruz-Larrazabal won the women’s race after negotiating the 10-kilometer route in 57 minutes and 43.89 seconds. Melina Ignacio finished second with the time of 1:10:43.09. – Caecent No-ot Magsumbol (THE FREEMAN)
